Brand new method taught at Evolve:
The Lived Knowledge Method
Transform your diverse expertise into a signature approach that builds your authority and scales your impact
As part of our in-person day together in the Blue Mountains there will be 2 workshopss, and in the first I will be guiding you through:
The Lived Knowledge Method: Transform your diverse expertise into a signature approach that builds your authority and scales your impact
In this method I teach a 5 phase process I've developed specifically for those who are looking to create their own methodology or approach to capture the work you do with mothers. It’s to help those with multiple passions to create a signature approach that brings together your varied expertise and experience.
After years of supporting practitioners in the mother-supporting space, I know that one of the biggest challenges can be bringing together all of your knowledge, experience, and training into something that feels cohesively yours, and The Lived Knowledge Method is what I’ve designed to help you do this for your mother-supporting business and/or practice.
The Lived Knowledge Method is especially powerful if you're someone who:
Has invested in multiple trainings and you’re trying to find your own voice and approach in your mother-supporting work
You’re passionate about multiple areas of mother-support and so at times you can feel 'scattered' rather than strategic in your approach
You feel called to step into your authority and owning of your expertise and experience
You want to scale your impact while staying true to your unique perspective and approach
Naming your approach not only helps you feel more confident, coherent, clear, and able to design a business model, strategy and approach that is intentional – but it also helps you hone your messaging, marketing, and offers when you have an approach to orient around and anchor into.
about your hosts
Dr Sophie Brock
A Sociologist specialising in Motherhood Studies, educator, business mentor, podcaster, and creator of the Motherhood Studies Practitioner Certification.
-
Dr Sophie Brock is a Sociologist and mother who has dedicated over a decade to researching and teaching Motherhood Studies, holding a PhD from The University of Sydney where she developed groundbreaking theory for understanding how mothers' lives are shaped by the social and cultural construct of Motherhood.
As the creator of the world’s first independently offered professional development program in maternal theory - The Motherhood Studies Practitioner Certification - Sophie brings a unique blend of academic rigour and practical business experience to her work.
As a single mother since shortly after the birth of her daughter and beginning her business when her daughter was 2 years old, Sophie understands the responsibility that comes with being the sole income provider, and the flexibility required to blend mothering and business.
After moving from academia to business creation, within 12 months Sophie’s business reached consistent 5 figure months, scaling to 6 figures within 2 years. She has since scaled her business organically from concept to consistent and growing multiple-six figure years, while developing a comprehensive range of services including the certification program, live and self-study courses, workshops, consultations, mentoring packages, an online membership for mothers, and a business mastermind.
Sophie’s podcast, The Good Enough Mother, has reached over 370,000 downloads and she is connected with over 50,000 mothers across marketing platforms. A recognised authority in her field, Sophie is regularly sought after by journalists for expert commentary on motherhood-related issues in the media, and maintains an active presence in academia through ongoing research and publications.
Sophie has taught and mentored hundreds of professionals who work with mothers, helping them integrate sociological frameworks into their work and grow their businesses and practices.
Her approach is grounded in challenging conventional business paradigms, and moving beyond the false dichotomy of 'hustle culture' versus 'slow growth' to create sustainable, values-aligned business models.
Sophie's teaching philosophy centres on creating transformative learning experiences and she approaches her role as an educator and facilitator with deep respect and sensitivity. Sophie is committed to supporting practitioners in becoming "beacons of light" who can effectively champion and advocate for mothers, while building authentic, thriving, enriching lives for themselves.
