Glennon Doyle’s book ‘Untamed’ opens with a story of the ‘caged’ cheetah Tabitha who is tamed but senses her innate wildness. I draw parallels between this story and the social conditioning that we experience as Mothers through the analogy of the ‘fish tank’. Motherhood can both intensify – or create – a feeling of being ‘caged’, while also providing us a catalyst and opportunity for immense growth, power, and transformation.
