Training 1:
Speaking your vision to life
Sophie shares her approach to diving into business and professional development. You’ll be prompted to create space to connect with your own desires and intentions for what you want to create in your work. Listen to Sophie’s critique of the ‘system’ of business and individualised ‘growth’ that we are culturally situated within, and how we can use this lens to completely shift the way we think about and relate to ‘fear’. We talk comparison, competition, judgement (of self and others), and self-stories.
training 2:
When we are the instrument for change - self-worth, imposter syndrome and ‘money mindsets’
Learn about the ways imposter syndrome is related to perfectionism, comparison, and is part of our socialisation as women and mothers. Rethink the judgement we place on ourselves when we experience ‘self doubt’ and consider how self doubt, imposter syndrome - and even fear - can be conduits for connection, growth, and deeper learning about ourselves, our work, and others. Sophie draws attention to the ways business-martyrdom can manifest as another version of motherhood-martyrdom, and how we can be alert to this, and shift it. You’ll learn about energy management, ‘performance’ and vulnerability, and the ethics of selling.
training 3:
creative processes unleashed - cultivating space for clarity and vision
Discover why seeking clarity with decision-making and to ‘move forward’ in our work can keep at a distance the very things we’re wanting to move towards. We dive into unpacking ‘self-stories’ and what narratives we have received and/or internalised about what type of person we are, and how this is impacting our work. There is a focus on integration and guidance on creating a vision considering impact, legacy and your definition of ‘success’ in your life and work.
training 4:
Writing out your roadmap forward - focus, direction, planning and milestones
This training is all about putting into practice what you have learnt over this course, and confronting some of the barriers that may still be in your way. Sophie challenges you to think about your relationship to ‘busy-ness’ and how our relationship to ‘productivity’ can actually be stifling our creativity. You’ll be asked to think about your ‘vision’, ‘strategy’, and ‘tactics’, and hear Sophie share some of her own experiences in navigating challenge, ‘failure’, and the importance of bringing our humanity into our work.
Those who Sophie supports are usually mothers themselves who believe in a vision of Motherhood where Mothers are respected, resourced, supported and valued. Backgrounds include but are not limited to social work, psychology, academia, midwifery, nursing, lactation, doulas, counselling, coaching, occupational therapy, and any other area that involves supporting Mothers.
THIS COURSE IS DESIGNED FOR THOSE IN THE EARLY STAGES OF THEIR BUSINESSES AND/OR CREATIVE PROJECTS AND WAS FIRST RUN AS A LIVE MENTORING PROGRAM

WHY WORK WITH sophie?
Researching and writing about Motherhood is my life passion. I believe in what I do, in mothers, and in the possibilities that are open to us as creatives, entrepreneurs, and visionaries in this space.
I was driven to create my business for a number of reasons. As a single mother to my then 2 year old I wanted to find a way to work flexibly and allow me the time I wanted with my daughter, while also supporting us financially. I also wanted to draw on the expertise and experience I had built already, work to my strengths, translate information from the academic world into mainstream conversation, make a difference in the lives of Mothers, and contribute to social and cultural change.
I built my business from the ground up by myself because at the time, I couldn't afford to bring in the support. This means I know intimately the process of creation, of feeling isolated and alone, of wondering whether this is 'worth it', of fear and worry. I found some brilliant mentors and friends, took things one step at a time, and was driven by my vision.
Within 2 years I built my business into a six-figure company, and have supported hundreds of Mothers through a range of offerings including self-study courses, a Practitioner Certification course, mentoring packages, an online membership, a mastermind, and a popular podcast that reaches thousands of listeners across 49 countries.
What I didn't know at the beginning of my journey but that I know now, is that developing your business and work in the world is as much as a journey of personal growth as professional (ok... more!) All of my work blends the realms of the 'personal' and the 'professional', and critiques the social and cultural environment we live within, while offering advice for how to actually navigate these contexts. I think breaking down dichotomies of 'either/or' is where we open space for possibility.
This is why I don't claim to have all the answers, but I do have confidence in knowing what questions to ask. I have a deep commitment to my own ongoing learning, curiosity, and my own personal and intellectual development.
To gain insight into how I teach, share and frame content, you can listen to my podcast The Good Enough Mother. But my advice would be to trust yourself in knowing whether you are called to join this program. It is an honour and a joy to do this work, and I would love to support you in doing yours.
