Informative, thought-provoking and reassuring.
This podcast is everything I have been looking for- taking research about motherhood, baby sleep and everything in between and making it digestible and interesting for everyone. Sophie has a lovely way of communicating her findings and avoids any bias, giving us all the answers she can find and letting us make what we wish of it from there. I recommend this podcast to anyone who is interested in diving deeper into the psychological, social and emotional aspects of motherhood and raising babies.

A podcast for Mums wondering WTF has happened to their lives
As a mother to a one year old I have often found myself wading through feelings of guilt, resentment, shame, and confusion about my new role as a mother. Sophie’s podcast delves right in and helps me to understand and unpack why I might be feeling like this. Sophie speaks beautifully, she offers unbiased and evidence based research and she knows exactly what women and mothers need to hear. As a listener I can hear that Sophie is highly intelligent and passionate about improving the experiences of mothers. Thanks for an amazing podcast Sophie, these conversations are so necessary!

Super informative guide to the inner work of motherhood
Having just discovered Sophie I have only listened to a few episodes so far, but all have been thought-provoking. I love the incorporation of evidence-based work combined with personal examples. You provide another reminder of the need for continual inner work as a mum to ensure we are able to show up for ourselves and our families.

A feminist must have!
Wow. Just wow. I’ve listened to quite a few episodes now, and I every episode I think to myself that these are the truest words ever spoken - and the next episode I say that again 😆 Sophie and her guests are actively deconstructing patriarchal motherhood and working to provide emotional freedom to mothers (and parents/carers). Thank you Sophie, I look forward to listening as each episode is released.

Spoke to my soul!
As a mum of two toddlers (4yo boy and 2yo girl) who (prior to children) was VERY outcome focused/KPI driven I related so so so much to your podcast on the perfect child myth. I wish so much that this information was the norm of what was shared because social constructs of the perfect mother and the perfect child can be so damaging to both of these subjects!

Rich with wisdom and heart
I adore this podcast. Each episode is jam packed with thoughtful conversation, commentary and wisdom. Easily the top of my podcast list 🤩
I LOVED the episode on Maternal Ambivalence I can honestly say I have never heard a better explanation of what maternal ambivalence actually is and the power of of it. Thank you so much for your unique talent in breaking down concepts that can feel a bit out of reach into such relatable explanations. 🤩👏

So profound!
I have been a mother for 16 years and have 5 children ranging in age from 4 to 16. I wish this podcast was around when I first became a mother. The topics you discuss are so profound and reassuring that I am a ‘good enough mother’ and that being an intuitive mother is the best way. And to discover matresence. OMG! That was mind blowing! It all just made sense. Thank you, thank you for making me feel normal again and that I am doing a great job at being a mother.

Thank you Sophie
Sophie, listening to your podcasts has lifted a massive weight from my shoulders. I had been taking full responsibility for the many challenges of my mothering journey, blaming my inadequacies and scrambling to be better. I am now relaxing into myself as a mother and a woman. I know I’m doing a good job, I am able to just enjoy my children and let them be without so much imposing and worrying. I’ve seen a shift in my kids as well.. like a strong bond of trust, respect and safety. They can also relax. I believe your work can change the foundations of our social structure to be more balanced, equitable and harmonious. Thank you.

This podcast makes me a better Mum
I was a stay at home mum feeling invisible and like a failure to feminism. Now I value my WORK and have embraced my authentic ‘good enough’ self. I didn’t turn my life around... I’m still a stay at home mum. But now I practice my agency through mothering. I feel like I’m a part of something. I cannot recommend this podcast more highly. Every mother needs to hear this.

Sophie cover’s many important topics, but Motherhood and anger, particularly episode 38 has been so potent for myself, I have listened to it twice already. Sophie explains things in a relatable way and gives tips that feel possible to put into practice. I appreciate her authentic shares about her own journey of mothering her daughter.

I stumbled upon this podcast and am so grateful I did! Sophie provides such critically important insights into parenting in our modern age. By melding science, psychology, as well as a solid dose of empathy, she provides a needed antidote to so much junk out there about how to parent. Instead, her podcasts give a foundational base so parents understand their own tendencies and the developmental stages of children and can enter parenting with more knowledge and kindness toward themselves and others.
I found Dr. Sophie on Instagram well over a year ago and have watched her stories and have been absorbing her content on that platform. I finally made my way over to her podcast and I am so bummed I didn’t do it sooner. This podcast is full of evidence-based information that is helpful, soothing, and nourishing. This would have saved me so much heartache as a new mother, but I’m so thankful for it now and moving forward. Every mom needs Dr. Sophie’s content in their lives.
